Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of 1UpShorts (the “Service”), operated by 1UpShorts (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

1UpShorts turns a topic or document into a short-form video: an AI-generated script, AI voiceover, AI-generated visuals, and rendered captions. You review and approve the script before any video is rendered.

2. Your account and responsibilities

You’re responsible for the topics, documents, and edits you submit, and for how you use the videos we generate — including complying with each platform’s own rules on AI-generated or synthetic content (for example YouTube’s disclosure requirements and TikTok’s AI-content labeling). We’ll remind you of these obligations in the product, but you are the publisher of record on any platform you post to.

3. Billing

Plans are billed monthly and include a set number of credits. Each video costs a published number of credits that depends on its length, its quality setting, and whether it features a character — the exact price is shown on screen before you confirm a render, so you always know the cost in advance. Because those factors vary, plans are described as a range of videos rather than a fixed count.

A render that fails is never charged: no credits are deducted in the first place, so there is nothing to refund. Unused credits remain available for as long as your subscription is active and are not carried over after it ends. Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money outside the refund policy below. We may change credit prices for future renders, but never for a render you have already been quoted.

Payments are processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), which acts as the merchant of recordfor all purchases. Polar handles payment, billing and applicable sales tax or VAT, and will appear as the seller on your card statement and invoice. Your purchase is also subject to Polar’s buyer terms and privacy policy.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page (“Manage subscription”). Cancellation stops future charges; your plan and its remaining credits stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and are not carried over beyond it. We do not require notice, and there is no cancellation fee. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches the acceptable-use section below, and will refund any unused portion of the current period if we do so for any reason other than that breach.

5. Refunds

If you’re not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of a charge for a refund of the unused part of that charge: the charge minus the credits already spent on finished videos, at the price you paid per credit. Full detail: our refund policy.

6. Content and platform connections

Where you connect a third-party account (for example YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram) to auto-post videos, you authorize 1UpShorts to publish on your behalf using the permissions you grant, and you can disconnect that authorization at any time from your account settings.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to generate content that is illegal, infringing, or that misrepresents AI-generated content as authentic where a platform or law requires disclosure. We may suspend accounts that violate this.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice before they take effect.
